Falcons Playoff Tickets Sell In 5 Minutes

ATLANTA — The NFL playoffs have returned to the Georgia Dome but it may be hard to get a ticket.

A limited number of playoff tickets for Atlanta Falcons post-season went on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday. A Falcons spokesman told Channel 2 sports director Zach Klein the tickets were sold out in five minutes.

The Falcons clinched a playoff spot on Sunday and could lock up home field advantage for the entire NFC playoffs with a win Monday night against the New Orleans Saints. Monday's game will air on Channel 2 starting with a pregame show at 8 p.m.

The Falcons have not hosted a playoff game since Jan. 15, 2005 when they beat the St. Louis Rams in a divisional playoff game. The Falcons would lose the next week in the NFC championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This year's version of the Falcons have the best record in the NFL and can clinch the NFC South division with a win against the Saints or a win over Carolina the following week.
