ATLANTA — Thousands of fans packed Aaron's Amphitheater at Lakewood Tuesday night to see Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer, collectively known as KISS.

The concert was full of energy, pyrotechnics and plenty of fans dressed in KISS makeup.

Speaking of makeup, the band started wearing it early in its history. Wikipedia notes band members wore little to no makeup for its first three gigs back in 1973, but that the iconic designs made their debut at the band's fourth show in Amityville, NY. KISS did tour in the 80s without the makeup.

"Kiss today is Kiss as I've always wanted it – four guys who get along great, who play fiercely and are proud of who we are, proud of our fans and celebrate what we do from the time we wake up to the time we go to bed," Stanley said in an interview for for 85-26.com.
