Delta Flight To ATL Makes Emergency Landing

INDIANAPOLIS,None — A Delta flight to Atlanta made an unscheduled landing at Indianapolis International Airport because of a possible engine failure, according to airline officials.

Airport spokeswoman Susan Sullivan said the Boeing 737 landed safely about 8 a.m. Friday and that no injuries were reported among the 160 people on board. She said the flight originated in Minneapolis and was bound for Atlanta.

Flightstats.com listed the flight as Delta 1073.

WTHR-TV in Indianapolis reported the problem may have been an oil leak in one engine.

Mechanics were inspecting the aircraft to see whether repairs were needed.
