Clayton investigators round up fugitives

CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga.,None — Clayton County investigators spent Thursday rounding up fugitives.

The operation began at 6 a.m. and was carried out by the Sheriff's Office Fugitive Unit.

By the end of the day, the unit had taken three men into custody.

The first two men attempted to barricade themselves in homes, officials said.

Investigators arrested Reginald Ivory on an outstanding warrant for armed robbery. Justin Price was arrested on an aggravated assault charge.

Channel 2's Erica Byfield was with undercover officers as they attempted to arrest a man for failing to pay child support.

"There is a lot of investigation that goes into trying to not only serve warrants and just to track the people down to serve the warrants," Deputy Justin Arnzen told Byfield as they approached a house.

The Fugitive Unit did not find James Gober at his house, but was able to locate him a few doors down.

Initially, he ran inside the house; his mother then begged him to surrender.

"He cooperated when he knew there was no avenue of escape for him," said Arnzen.

All three men were taken to the Clayton County Jail.
