ATLANTA — Clark Howard has advice for you on how to choose a security alarm monitoring company.
Channel 2 Action News has had some calls lately about security alarm companies that have merged and others that require contracts.
Because of the calls, Clark Howard wants to reiterate his advice for choosing an alarm company:
--Don't sign a contract -- ever.
--If a security company wants you to pay more than $20 per month, find another company.
--Take your time researching the company. Find out if the monitoring station is UL approved, and if the station is properly staffed and trained.
