Boyfriend Charged In Stabbing Death Of Mother Of 4

ATLANTA — Damian Brown faced a judge Saturday morning who found probable cause to charge him with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

Atlanta homicide detectives arrested Brown, 28, late Friday in College Park after questioning him about Yolanda Johnson's death.

Police said Johnson was found stabbed to death at the Centennial Place Apartments in downtown Atlanta Thursday evening.

Channel 2 Action News reporter Linda Stouffer spoke with the victim's mother, Barbara Moon, who said that her daughter was discovered by three of Johnson's children when they came home from school Thursday afternoon.

There were signs of a fight between Johnson and her attacker, according to police.

"During the altercation, the suspect produced a knife and stabbed the victim, at least 4-5 times," said Major Keith Meadows of the Atlanta Police Department.

Johnson's children found her on the bathroom floor of their apartment.

Moon said her daughter worked as an assistant manager at a Dollar Tree store.

Channel 2 Action News learned detectives seized surveillance video of Brown visiting the store several times before the murder.
