ATLANTA,None — An Atlanta police officer was involved in an accident on Thursday evening, Channel 2 has confirmed.
The accident happened shortly before 7 p.m. near Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and Joseph Lowery Boulevard in northwest Atlanta.
A police representative said the officer was taking someone to the Fulton County Jail when the officer's police cruiser collided with a Honda Civic.
The officer was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The officer was said to be conscious and alert. The prisoner was also taken to Grady.
The driver of the other vehicle was taken to Grady. Her condition was not immediately known.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
