Albany dealership owner wins $127K

ATLANTA — ATLANTA - An Albany used car dealership owner has won a significant Georgia Lottery prize worth over a hundred thousand dollars. Johnny “Mac” George Jr. of Leesburg matched all five numbers from the Aug. 15 Fantasy 5 drawing, winning the $127,143 jackpot prize.

Countyline Foods, 104 Philema Road in Albany, sold the winning Quik Pik ticket.

George, owner of Mac George Motorcars, claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Tifton.

“I looked at it 10 times and got my wife to check,” he said. “We danced around, high-fived and chest-bumped each other.”

The lucky winner and his wife, Kelli, have an 18-year-old son.

“I’m going to let it sit in the bank and spend it wisely,” said George, 53.

Winning numbers from the Aug. 15 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 2-7-14-23-27.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $16.5 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.7 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.4 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
