ATLANTA — Little 5 Points was alive with dancing, artwork, marching bands and more at the second annual 5 Arts Fest. Painters, sculptors, dancers and poets showed off their creativity.
Local artist "Loud Paint" says she loves how the community comes together for the 5 Arts Fest.
The festival sponsored by the 5 Arts Foundation wants people to experience five arenas of art--the literary, the performance, arts and crafts, the recording and the visual. The foundation works to support and preserve the arts in schools and communities.
"It is a celebration of art and artists that help characterize the city, help characterize what it means to be artistic," says foundation Director Horacio Carter. "The 5 Arts Fest is an expression of all the genres of art."
Every aspect of the festival was well-received by the festivalgoers.
Peter Clifton from Virginia Highlands really enjoyed the artwork.
"I really like it," he says. "It's cool to see people walking around on the street, music playing. It reminds me of New Orleans actually."
And Carter summed it up best. "If you like art, this is where you need to be. And if you don't think that you're an artist, this is where you actually come to let the artist in you come out."
