22 Train Cars Derail In Bartow County

CARTERSVILLE, Ga.,None — Cartersville police said 22 train cars carrying grain derailed Friday morning.

Cleanup Under Way After CSX Trains Derail

Police said no injuries were reported.

Felton Road was closed because of the CSX train derailment, police said.

Newschopper 2 flew over the scene and emergency officials had put caution tape around some of the houses that backed up to the train tracks.

Several train cars were crumpled up and on top of each other. All of the train cars were completely off the tracks and on their sides. Grain could be seen spilling onto the ground.

CSX officials said the spill would take three to five days to clean up.

There is no word on what caused the accident.

A representative with CSX said the train originated out of Michigan and was on its way to Comer, Ga.
