MARIETTA, Ga. — Marietta police said they believe alcohol may be a factor in a crash that seriously injured another driver.
Police said an initial investigation revealed that a Honda Accord driven by Sheila Hunter, 50, was traveling north on Cobb Parkway next to a Ford Super Duty truck driven by a 36-year-old man just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said Hunter drifted from her lane and struck the truck, causing both vehicles to lose control, leave the road and overturn.
Hunter was transported to Kennestone Hospital by ambulance in good condition, police said. The driver of the truck had to be extricated from his vehicle and flown to Atlanta Medical Center. He remains in critical condition, police said. His name has not been released.
Police said charges are pending against Hunter, and alcohol is believed to be a factor.
