DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A 24-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot at a cookout Sunday.
The incident happened on Scarbrough Drive off Covington Highway.
Police said the man was standing outside a car in the street when a group of people he had been fighting drove by and shot at him several times. During the gunfire, a stray bullet pierced a home and grazed the ankle of a 10-year-old girl inside the house.
No arrests have been made but police said they are following leads.
The man was taken to Grady Hospital in critical condition. The girl suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
