FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Princess Cruises is set to launch its newest ship, the Star Princess, on November 7, 2025, with Camila and Matthew McConaughey announced as the ship’s godparents.
The Star Princess will embark on a journey across the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, and eventually to Alaska. This marks the continuation of a tradition where notable figures have served as godparents for Princess Cruises’ ships, including cultural icons such as Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn.

The Star Princess is a 177,800-ton vessel capable of accommodating 4,300 guests. It features 30 distinct dining and bar venues, curated entertainment and activity offerings, and luxurious accommodations across a wide range of categories.
The Sanctuary Collection, available on both the Star Princess and the Sun Princess, offers an elevated private escape at sea.Guests can enjoy panoramic views from over 1,500 balcony staterooms, and standout venues such as The Dome and The Princess Arena enhance the onboard experience.
The ship will debut in the Mediterranean, sailing roundtrip from Barcelona on October 4, 2025, before crossing the Atlantic to begin its Caribbean voyages from Ft. Lauderdale.
