ATLANTA -- Christians around the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus this weekend, but Easter 2020 will be one to remember.
With a shelter-in-place order issued by the state of Georgia due to the coronavirus pandemic, churches will sit empty, there won’t be many large family gatherings and most Easter outfits will sit in a closet.
But that doesn’t mean people won’t still commemorate the holiday. They’ll just do it differently this year.
Since people can’t make it to church, the church is coming to the people. Dozens of local churches have moved their services online. WSB-TV is teaming up with several churches to bring their Easter messages to the masses.
New Birth Missionary Baptist Church is in Lithonia.
“We are an Apostolic and Prophetic center that builds, equips, activates, imparts, releases, gathers, restores, and revives,” the church’s website notes. “Our vision is to love, live, and lead like Christ.”
In addition to New Birth, WSB-TV is streaming several services on the WSB Now app:
Sunday at 11 a.m. Johns Creek Baptist Church
Sunday 2 p.m. Cathedral of Christ the King
Watch the services on wsbtv.com, the WSB Now stream or download the WSB Now app for Roku, Apple TV or your Amazon Fire and watch the services there.
WSBTV.com also features Easter services from Victory Church.
