ATLANTA — Girl Scouts got the chance to earn badges, learn new skills, and make memories at Girl Scout Con, an annual convention held by Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. The organization welcomed community partners and various businesses to share interactive booths for scouts to explore at Atlanta Metropolitan State College.
“Going beyond the cookies includes our STEM education, along with entrepreneurial programs and our outdoor stewardship,” says Jai Ferrell, the CEO of Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta. “They are also learning about healthy eating habits, menstruation, all kinds of really amazing things that girls specific for them.”
More than 400 scouts attended the convention, making new friends, and participating in SWAPS. The summery theme this year was “Girls Scouts Making Waves”.
Our Family 2 Family partner, Delta Community Credit Union, also held a workshop for scouts and their parents.
Reina Jones with Delta Community explains, “They are our future leaders, so this event just opens up their world, it exposes them to so many opportunities.”
Girl Scout Con is set to return in 2027.
