Pizza delivery driver robbed, shot by group of teens, police say

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A pizza delivery driver said three teenagers robbed and nearly killed him while he was trying to do his job.

Police said it started when a 16-year-old called Marco’s Pizza in College Park for a delivery to an abandoned home along Smoke Ridge Drive.

King Melton, 20, showed up to deliver the pizza and said he was attacked by a group of teens.

“I turn around and boom, ‘Drop it.’ (I said), ‘It’s just pizza. Just take it.’ As he’s standing there holding me up he’s like telling me to empty your pockets,” he said.

Melton said he tried to fight off the robbers as they attempted to take his car. He was shot three times.

“I honestly feel like I shouldn’t be here sometimes because of how I got shot and where I got shot,” he said. “I feel like I’m here because of God.”
