"We just heard the gunshots and people started running," Stephens told Willis.

The station was turned into a crime scene.

A MARTA representative confirmed that a male was shot and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he died.

Stephens said it was disturbing to be this close to a murder in an area that, at the time, was crowded with families and children.

"The kids came out over here and said somebody was shooting. And we heard the gunshots

And looked over there and all we saw was the police going over there," Stephens said.

A MARTA representative told Willis that police were able to catch the shooter shortly after the attack.

That only brings Stephens a small amount comfort.

"I mean, there are kids up in here so, it should be more safe and secure environment," Stephens said.
