Gov. Deal announces Falcons Friday

ATLANTA — Excitement is building in Atlanta as the Falcons prepare to play in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

Governor Nathan Deal officially declared Friday as “Falcons Friday” and encouraged Georgians to wear red and black and show their Falcons pride.

Falcons gear is flying off the shelves across the metro area and the state.

Falcons flags are flying from Colony Square in Midtown to Peachtree Center Downtown, the CNN Center and billboards everywhere.

Channel 2 Action News will have special Atlanta Falcons coverage LIVE from Houston every weeknight at 6:30 p.m.

"I'm so happy to see this. Waiting for Sunday with my dad. I can't wait. When I pass by this, it makes me smile and be proud of my city," Talisa Burke said.
