Family of carjacking suspect that killed 8-year-old is apologizing

The family of the woman accused of starting a police chase that led to the death of an 8-year-old boy is apologizing to the boy's family.

Members of Ana Bolton's family tells Channel 2’s Matt Johnson that she recently started getting in with the wrong crowd and it led to a decision that has ruined her life and killed an innocent little boy.

They wanted the boy's family to know they're truly sorry for her actions.

Johnson spoke exclusively with Bolton's relatives Sunday in south Fulton County.

Bolton is accused of carjacking a man Monday afternoon and leading police on a chase in the stolen car in south Fulton County.

The chase ended when she crashed into a car carrying Wendy Mack's family.

Jamaris Davis, 8, died Thursday when doctors took him off life support.

Bolton's aunt looked right into the camera as she let the family know how apologetic her family is.

“We are sorry. We are very sorry for what you and your family have to go through but I am a woman of faith and I know that God will see you through,” Bolton's aunt Venus Ponder said.

SOUTH FULTON COUNTY — A GoFundMe account has been set up to help Davis' family with funeral expenses.
