ATLANTA — A gunman sprayed a car with bullets in southwest Atlanta Saturday afternoon, causing the driver to crash.
Channel 2's Rikki Klaus was at the crash site on Highway 166 near Langford Parkway where police said the victim was seriously hurt when his car ran off the road and into a ditch.
The victim is recovering at Grady Hospital after his car flew off the road.
Police said someone pulled up alongside another vehicle around 3:30 p.m. and shot into the victim's car multiple times. The driver lost control.

Police at the scene weren't sure if the victim's head injury was from gunfire or the impact of the crash.
"We’re becoming desensitized to all the senseless killings and everything like that. So there’s always time for change," Williams said. “I think more importantly it’s going to have to start within our communities. We have to want to change ourselves in order to change things like that.”
Investigators have not released the man's name. He is currently stable.
Klaus spoke to neighbor Deonte Williams, who said it's horrible to hear about a drive-by shooting in the area, but he's not surprised.
