POLK COUNTY, Ga. — The parents of a fallen police detective say they'll be in court on Monday to see their daughter's alleged killer.

They have strong words for Seth Spangler, man who sits inside the Polk County jail.

"If you ask me how I feel about him, I hope he rots in hell," said Ron Brewer, the father of Det. Kristen Hearne.

Hearne was killed in the line of duty when she and officer David Goodrich were checking on a stolen car.

For a third consecutive day, Channel 2’s Chris Jose sat down with Hearne's parents.

Detective Kristen Hearne died Friday after investigators say she was acting as backup when she and a fellow officer were checking out a suspicious vehicle.

This time, her father broke his silence and told Jose his daughter's alleged killer deserves the death penalty.

According to the family, dash cam video shows Spangler shoot Hearne.

“After she fell, he stood over her and continued shooting. I don't look at him as a human being. I look at him as animal,” he said.

The Brewers said they'll be in court on Monday to see Spangler in person.

“He knew. He knew what he was doing. He knew that 1st bullet, what it gave her but yet he continued to pump them bullets in my daughter,” Ron Brewer said.

Spangler is accused of killing Hearne and injuring officer David Goodrich.

“As far as an eye for an eye, I believe he deserves exactly what he had done. and i believe he deserves to rot in hell. where he came from. He came from out of pits of hell and he needs to go back to the pits of hell,” Ron Brewer said.

Hearne's family says Monday will be long and emotional.

“And it brings the anger out, Chris. It really brings the anger out,” Trish Brewer said.

They'll look into the eyes of an alleged killer and will head to the church -- to prepare for a funeral.

“I'm going to have to go tomorrow and I'm going to have to see my daughter and I'm gonna have to face her but at least I got to tell her I love her,” Trish Brewer said.
