Escaped murder suspect accused of killing Georgia lottery winner captured

IRWIN COUNTY, Ga. — A murder suspect charged with killing a lottery winner is back behind bars after escaping.

Earnest Holcomb is one of seven suspects charged with killing Craigory Burch Jr. in January.

Authorities said he escaped from the Ben Hill County Jail on Wednesday.

Sheriff's officers say they found Holcomb hiding under a house in Ocilla Thursday night.

He now faces 10 years in prison on escape charges.

Burch, a south Georgia father, won more than $434,000 playing the Fantasy Five lottery game.
