Husband speaks out after pregnant wife is killed

ATLANTA — The husband of a pregnant woman hit and killed while waiting at the bus stop told Channel 2 Action News he's visited the crash scene.

Keanna Shields Bentley was 8 months pregnant.

After visiting the crash site, her husband, Quent Bentley, told Channel 2's Matt Johnson he feels like it was just a freak accident that killed his wife and unborn baby girl Thursday.
           
He says it's the support from family and friends that is keeping him sane right now.
 
Dozens of family members and friends of Keanna Shields Bentley came together Sunday for a celebration of her life.
 
This was supposed to be a weekend celebrating her baby girl who was due next month and mother-to-be's graduation that was just days away.
 
On Thursday, the 21-year-old waiting for a bus stop on Pryor Road on her way to get her cap and gown.
 
That's when an out of control driver blew past a stop sign, hit a car, then hit her.
 
Her husband, who is in the Navy, and says the past three days have been a nightmare.
 
"Never I thought something was going to happen to her, I thought if something was going to happen it'd happen to me,. I'd rather it be me," Quent Bentley said.
 
He also thanked everyone who has prayed for his wife and their families and everyone who has donated to their GoFundMe page.
