Storms possible overnight ahead of cold front

Georgia could see strong storms Sunday ahead of a cold front that could bring snow to north Georgia Monday.

Severe Weather Team 2 Meteorologist Eboni Deon said rain and storms will move in Sunday evening.

“Heavy rain and gusty winds will develop with some storms overnight,” Deon said. “rain wraps up early Monday morning as the storm moves off to the northeast.”

The coldest air of the season will move in Monday and snow is likely to develop over far north Georgia with flurries extending into the northern suburbs.

Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns says the snow will fall mainly north of a line from Canton to Dawsonville to Helen. Up to 2 inches are possible in the highest elevations.
