The Flood Watch continues for * Portions of north central Georgia...northeast Georgia and northwest Georgia...including the following areas...in north central Georgia...Fannin...Gilmer...Lumpkin and Union. In northeast Georgia...Towns and White. In northwest Georgia... Catoosa...Dade...Murray...Walker and Whitfield. * From Saturday morning through Sunday evening * Heavy rains will spread over north Georgia beginning tonight and continuing through Sunday. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible over north Georgia, with 3 to 5 inches possible in the higher terrain of the mountains. These rainfall amounts will likely lead to flooding. * Rivers and creeks remain high from recent rainfall and the smaller basins will be quick to respond to high rainfall rates and associated runoff, particularly over north Georgia. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
