ATHENS, Ga. - Freshman quarterback Jake Fromm will make his first career start for the Georgia Bulldogs this weekend against Notre Dame in South Bend, Coach Kirby Smart said in a news conference Monday.
The announcement came just two days after starting quarterback Jacob Eason suffered a left knee injury early in the game against Appalachian State on Saturday.
Eason was pushed out of bounds and then shoved again on the Bulldogs’ third series. The late-hit personal foul left Eason with a sprained knee ligament.
Smart said he's not sure how long Eason will be out, but he will be back this season.
