Georgia’s perfect record ends with SEC Championship loss to Alabama

ATLANTA — The College Football Playoff picture took shape on championship Saturday. Unfortunately for Georgia fans, it didn’t go the way they had hoped.

No. 1 Georgia fell to No. 3 Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, 41-24, for its first loss of the season. It marks the seventh straight loss by the Bulldogs to the Tide.

We’ll have postgame reaction from Kirby Smart and the Dawgs, on WSB Tonight at 11 p.m. following the ACC Championship Game on ABC.

Georgia entered the SEC Championship with one of the nation’s top defenses. However, Bryce Young seemed to be a puzzle the Dawgs couldn’t figure out.

Young finished with three touchdowns, a SEC Championship record 461 total yards and appeared to wrap up a Heisman Trophy.

His counterpart Stetson Bennett also threw for three touchdowns for Georgia but had a pair of interceptions.

Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers tied the school’s single-season touchdown receptions record. He set a SEC Championship game record for yards and catches by a tight end.
