Chipper Jones is a dad again.

After 12 days of waiting past the due date, the future Braves Hall of Famer announced the birth of his fifth son this morning on Twitter:

12 days.....and he finally showed up! 8 lbs, 1 oz and 21 inches. Momma and baby doing great! Thx to everyone for all prayers & well wishes.

Chipper and his wife, Taylor Jones, married last year. The two had said they were expecting their first child early this year.

The anticipation grew weary on both of them as time approached. OK, mostly on Chipper.

The longtime Brave kept a running countdown on his Twitter account:

11.... and she had the eggplant parm at Scalinis last night!

Chipper, 44, who moved back to the Atlanta area from Texas, revealed in October the sex of his fifth child:  A boy. He has four sons from two previous relationships.
