ATLANTA - Atlanta United will be well represented in the 2017 MLS All-Star Game tomorrow evening, as three players received All-Star selections in the team’s first season.

Miguel Almirón, Greg Garza and Michael Parkhurst received the honor and, together, they will join other MLS All-Stars to take on Real Madrid at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Soldier Field.

Parkhurst, who made his first All-Star appearance in 2005, will make his fifth MLS All-Star appearance this year. The 2005 MLS Rookie of the Year and 2007 MLS Defender of the Year said that he is super excited about this year’s selection.

“It’s a fantastic honor,” Parkhurst said. “To be able to go out and represent the squad in the first All-Star game for Atlanta United is awesome. Myself, Greg and Miguel are going to go out there and do our best.

"Off the field, we are going to have a good time. We’re going to represent the club well on the field as well. We’re looking forward to it. It’s always a good event.”

For Almirón and Garza, they will be making their first All-Star game appearances.

Garza has battled numerous setbacks, which include injuries, a year-long rehabilitation following surgery and a sad ending to his time at Club Tijuana in Liga MX.

Through his setbacks, the current fullback said he is “very fortunate to be called an All-Star” in his first year in the MLS.

“That [honor] doesn’t just come from me, it comes from the 45,000 people who are here that have our backs,” Garza said. “I’m just really glad everyone could vote for me, and as I said, I’m very happy now in my career.”

Almirón, who is totally new to the All-Star game experience, will get his chance to play with the best of the best. Currently, he is tied for fifth in MLS in combined goals and assists with 17.

The game will be televised on FS1, Univision, TSN and TVA Sports.
