Woman Guilty Of Hitting, Killing 7-Year-Old

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A jury convicted a DeKalb County mother of hitting and killing another child.

A judge sentenced Shirley Ogilvie Wednesday to one year in jail for vehicular homicide.

Officials said the SUV Ogilvie was driving hit 7-year-old Cameron Dunmore near Princeton Elementary School in February 2009.

Ogilvie was taking her daughter to school when she hit the boy.

In 2009, Ogilvie's friend, Darlene Henson, told Channel 2 Action News that, "Shirley is completely distraught over this. It was a terrible accident."
