Winning Fantasy 5 ticket worth $250K sold in Rabun Co.

ATLANTA — One of three jackpot winning Fantasy 5 tickets worth $250,629 was sold in Rabun County. Clayton Foodmart, located at 17 Highway 441 S. in Clayton, sold a winning ticket that matched all five numbers from the Aug. 10 drawing.

The winner, Billy Robinson of Carnesville, claimed his prize Monday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth.

Robinson, who works in retail, said a customer notified him of a jackpot win in the area.

“I told him, ‘It’s got to be me,’ but I was just joking,” he said. “I got home and checked, and I couldn’t believe it. I was happy.”

Winning numbers from the Aug. 10 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 4-5-20-23-34.

The other winning tickets worth $250,629 were sold in Athens and Dallas.

Robinson, 49, plans to purchase a new truck with his winnings.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.6 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.2 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
