SHREVEPORT, La. — Residents in the South may be boiling mad about water shortages due to wintry weather, but one Louisiana woman found an interesting way to bathe her children.
Marie Harper, of Shreveport, began giving her children a bath in her crawfish pot, the Shreveport Times reported.
The large steel pot was filled with snow, and it was melted so Harper’s children could keep clean even though there was no water service in Shreveport, KATC reported.
“We’ve got nothing but time,” Harper posted on Facebook. “And did I mention clean children?”
Y'all... I cannot. I'm dying. With no water service, my sister just used their crawfish pot to melt snow and warm up the water in order to give the kids a bath tonight.

“I heard of friends heating snow to bathe their kids,” Harper told the Times. “Suddenly I realized we had the perfect equipment for this. We were just having fun.”
For those at home wanting to try this method, Harper’s sister, Danielle Manning, who originally shared a photo of the makeshift tub on Twitter, offered a disclaimer.
“Once the snow melted they had to put the whole pot on top of frozen snow to cool the bottom on the pot so it wouldn’t burn the kids,” Manning wrote in a follow-up tweet.
And here's a video compilation my sister just posted to FB of the whole process. The faucet pics are from early in the day before they lost water entirely.https://t.co/Seq5bvcfvx

Harper also used a wooden paddle, typically used to stir the crawfish, to stir the snow and water in the pot, according to the Times.
Harper’s 6-year-old daughter, who appeared in the viral photo, said she is enjoying being “kind of famous.”
“I kinda like it. But I’m also a little nervous about strangers wanting to take my picture on the street,” Elise Harper told the Times. “But mostly I’m excited.”
