WILLCOX, Ariz. — A bear that was stuck at the top of a power pole is safe and sound thanks to two utility workers in Arizona.
According to KPHO and KOLD, the dramatic rescue occurred Monday in Willcox. After the startled animal climbed the pole, Sulphur Spring Valley Electric Co-op employees Warner Newbauer and Efren Gallego sprang into action, the Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Tucson office said in a Facebook post.
The pair “coaxed a young bear off a utility pole ... from the basket of their boom truck after cutting the power,” the department captioned a video of the moment. “The bear, likely startled up the pole, had risked electrocution but then ran away uninjured.”
