Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s personal trainer pays tribute by doing push-ups at casket

Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s personal trainer performed a series of pushups at her casket Friday in tribute to the Supreme Court justice who was lying in state at the Capitol.

Bryant Johnson humbly walked to the coffin and silently paid his respects. He then dropped to the ground and did a set of three push-ups before getting up and walking away.

Ginsburg was known as much for her cutting dissents as her tough physical regimen.

Johnson had been Ginsburg’s personal trainer since 1999, CNBC reported. Their hour-long workouts were a mix of cardiovascular and strength-training exercises that would be grueling to many.

He started training with her in 1999 as she recovered from colon cancer. Even after she overcame multiple bouts of cancer, the 87-year-old made sure to do her planks, push-ups and squats.

Bryant is a military veteran and personal trainer to other high court justices including Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan, Politico reported.

He also released fitness book “The RBG Workout: How She Stays Strong...and You Can Too!” in 2017.
