Witnesses said Robinson opened fire at the vehicle Columbus was driving, after the pair argued Sunday evening in a parking lot near the George Floyd memorial site in Minneapolis, the Attorney's Office said in a news release Wednesday. Robinson also shot a man who confronted him after the incident, according to the release.
Emergency crews rushed Columbus, who was shot in the upper back, to a nearby hospital, where she died, the Attorney's Office said. Her baby was delivered and remains in critical condition in the hospital's neonatal intensive care unit, KSTP reported.
Doctors later treated the other shooting victim for a gunshot wound to his right foot, according to the Attorney's Office.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for Robinson, who remains at large, authorities said.
