DALLAS — Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has donated $50,000 to each of the families of two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies wounded during an ambush attack in September.
Cuban told Fox News that his donations are an extension of his efforts with the Fallen Patriot Fund, an endowment the franchise started to “help families of U.S. military personnel who were killed or seriously injured during Operation Iraqi Freedom.”

Cuban’s donations, totaling to $100,000, will help the deputies, who on Sept. 12 were attacked by a man who was seen on surveillance video walking toward their patrol car near the Compton metro station before firing shots through the passenger side window, WTSP reported.
The 31-year-old woman and 24-year-old man were shot in the face and head. Both underwent surgery, have been released from the hospital and are expected to make a full recovery, Fox News reported.
Deonte Lee Murray, 36, was arrested Wednesday and is facing attempted murder charges.
According to its official website, the Fallen Patriot Fund has issued more than $5.3 million in grants since its creation.
