LONDON — Happy birthday, Prince William!
According to The Associated Press, the Duke of Cambridge, who is second in line to the British throne and the grandson of Queen Elizabeth II, rang in his 40th birthday Tuesday.
Other members of the royal family took to social media to send well-wishes to the future king and father of three. Prince Charles and wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, were the first to acknowledge the occasion, sharing four photos of William on their official Twitter account.

The queen’s account followed with nine tweets detailing the prince’s accomplishments over the years.
“Happy Birthday to The Duke of Cambridge,” the thread began. “As the second in line to the throne turns 40, learn more about His Royal Highness.”
