According to a news release issued by the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, responding deputies found the bodies of a woman in her 50s and four children — all under the age of 12 — at a Lancaster home just before 11 p.m. Sunday.

All five victims, whose identities have not been released publicly, were pronounced dead on the scene and died of apparent gunshot wounds, KTLA reported.

Germarcus David is being held on $2 million bail and is slated to make his first court appearance on Tuesday, KABC reported.

A possible motive in the shootings has not yet been determined, and at least one of the slain children was an infant, the TV station reported.

According to KTLA, David was interviewed by investigators and arrested Monday morning.

Meanwhile, family members told the TV station that the victims’ bodies were first discovered by the children’s mother, who is the daughter of the woman killed.

“We can hear her screaming over the phone,” neighbor Reginald Beltran told KTLA.

“The only (comment) that that was very clear … she was screaming ‘my babies are dead, my babies are dead,’” Beltran added.
