NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Visitors to an Arkansas elementary school can be forgiven for double takes.

There are nine sets of twins at Seventh Street Elementary School in North Little Rock this year, KARK-TV reported.

“The reaction from the teachers are just like, ‘Didn’t I just see you?’” Principal Marques Collins told the television station. “No, I did just see you!”

Collins, in his first year at Seventh Street Elementary, said he has never seen so many sets of twins at one time in his 13 years as an educator.

“I probably have had one set of twins, maybe two, but to have nine sets is unique,” Collins told KARK.

Collins’ secretary alerted him to the twins.

“And then, like two weeks later, she said it again,” Collins told the television station. “She’s like, ‘We have another set of twins coming in and I’m like, ‘Hold on! How many sets of twins do we have?’”

Staff member Adrienne Durham said students being exposed to twin siblings is a good thing.

“Students are able to see that even though we’re grown, we can still have a good relationship,” she told KARK.

Her twin sister, Aundrea Durham, agreed.

“It seems like we try to get away from each other, but we always end up at the same place so, here we are,” Aundrea Durham told the television station.

Twins seem to be contagious at the elementary school.

Collins said his wife is expecting -- wait for it -- twin boys in March.

“And they were like, ‘Well, we found two heartbeats,’ and I was like, ‘What?’” Bresha Collins told KARK. “You know, I say maybe it’s in the air.”
