Coordinated group of thieves steal $100K worth of handbags from California Louis Vuitton store

PALO ALTO, Calif. — A coordinated group of 11 people swarmed a Louis Vuitton store in California on Monday and stole $100,000 worth of high-end handbags, investigators said.

Palo Alto police said it’s the second similar style theft at the Stanford Shopping Center in the last three weeks and believe the group is connected to like crimes in other cities, KPIX reported.

The group arrived around 5:30 p.m., grabbed 36 handbags and ran off, leaving in five separate vehicles before officers arrived, KTVU reported.

The suspects were all unarmed. They wore face coverings and were believed to be Black males and females in their teens or early 20s. Investigators said the getaway vehicles include a gray Lexus sedan, a gray Infinity SUV, a white Audi sedan, a black Hyundai sedan and a red Honda coupe, KRON reported.

Police said a group of 10 people stole 43 bags valued at $150,000 on May 19 from a Neiman Marcus at the Stanford Shopping Center, KTVU reported.
