Car stunts close Houston intersection

HOUSTON — The streets of Houston were overrun with motor vehicle mayhem overnight.

Drivers did stunts, blocked intersections or were pursued by police in separate incidents.

Crowds overtook and blocked roads while drivers performed burn outs and donuts near the intersection of Westheimer and Sage roads, KPRC reported. It is unclear if anyone was arrested. A similar event happened earlier this year in May, KTRK reported. The area was also the site of a similar display last year.

In another incident, about 20 all-terrain vehicles and dirt bikes were seen driving erratically and the wrong way on roads early Saturday morning throughout the city, KTRK reported

A 14-year-old was injured when he crashed into a police car during a pursuit. The teen was taken to a hospital for treatment. The extent of the teen's injuries was not released. The officer was not injured, KPRC reported.

Residents in another Houston neighborhood saw hundreds of ATVs, motorcycles and dirt bikes come down the street and travel to a parking lot, KTRK reported. It was not known if they were also involved in a pursuit with police.

It was unclear if any of the incidents were related.
