Jewel Hammond had been missing since Wednesday morning, the Miami Herald reported. Coast Guard officials said a woman’s body was found approximately 200 yards from Mule Key, which is located west of Key West.

Hammond, who was in her 30s, was last seen at the Schooner Wharf Bar in Key West at about 2 a.m. EDT Wednesday, the Herald reported.

“Local agencies continue to investigate the cause of death,” the Coast Guard said in a statement released on Twitter on Friday night.

According to the Herald, Hammond was with a man on the dinghy who reported her missing after it overturned near Mule Key.

A Coast Guard spokesman did not name the man Friday night, referring to him as “the reporting source.”

According to her Facebook page, Hammond lived in Denver. A message to the Facebook page of her husband, Ben Fisher, seeking comment was not returned Friday night, according to the Herald.

Fisher wrote on Facebook that Hammond was visiting her father in the Florida Keys, the newspaper reported.
