According to The Associated Press, Lydia Carol King, 28, was arrested and booked on recommended charges of two counts of first-degree murder.

In a federal indictment obtained by the AP, the Navajo Nation police arrived at a house on September 28 after reports that a man and a 6-year-old boy were found dead. The house was located in Kaiberto, Arizona.

Police said that both the man and boy had gunshot wounds to the head, according to the AP. They also said that King had fled the scene before they arrived.

King was located in Flagstaff at a hospital there on Thursday where she allegedly told police she had killed two people on the Navajo reservation, according to the AP.

King allegedly told the FBI that she was wondering if her husband was going to hurt her and had decided to kill him first, according to the AP. She allegedly also told the FBI that her husband pleaded with her not to do it, which was when she shot and killed her son.

King is scheduled for a hearing on October 24, according to the AP.
