LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A 4-year-old boy died Monday morning in an accidental shooting, according to police in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Authorities said they responded to a report of a shooting Monday morning at 600 Hardin Road, an Extended Stay America location. Police told KLTR-TV a boy accidentally shot himself around 4 a.m.
He died at a hospital, according to the news station.
In a statement posted on social media, police said their "thoughts and prayers are with the family."

It was not immediately clear how the boy got ahold of the gun used in the accidental shooting, KLTR-TV reported. Police continue to investigate.
