2020 Super Bowl: The winning ads you saw during big game

While some football die-hards watched every down between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs during Super Bowl LIV at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, there were many watching to see what happens between plays.

Teasers for the advertisements hit the internet, weeks before kickoff, but some of the spots were unexpected and was all that anyone was talking about.

Rocket Mortgage

The one ad that sticks out in the collective memory is being called “disturbing” by some. It shows how hunk Jason Momoa and his wife Lisa Bonet relax when they’re home in their oasis.

Jeep

Not only was Sunday Super Bowl Sunday, but it also was Groundhog Day. Jeep banked on the double “holiday” and tapped Bill Murray to once again live Feb. 2 over, over and over again. But this time, he doesn’t mind as much.

The dog had a 1% chance of survival.

Planters

Mr. Peanut was thought to have died, but he’s back in a big way as Baby Mr. Peanut.

Walt Disney World

One ad that didn’t run during the game, but aired after, was the iconic “I’m going to Disney World” ad. This year it was KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes who was selected as the player who will be meeting Mickey Mouse Monday. But he wasn’t the only one featured in the commercial spot -- 10-year-old Make-A-Wish child Nathaniel from Texas also appeared in the ad long with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse. Nathanial and 17 other Make-A-Wish children had their wishes granted with tickets to the Super Bowl and an appearance in the parade Monday afternoon.

Olay

Olay doesn’t seem like a fit for a Super Bowl but they’re going to break through that glass ceiling with spots that feature actresses Busy Phillips, Taraji P. Henson, journalist Katie Couric, YouTube star Lilly Singh and astronaut Nicole Stott, The Blast reported. The ad, called “Make Space for Women" was inspired by the recent all-female spacewalks and will tell girls and women that it is OK to pursue roles not traditionally filled by females.

Turbo Tax

Tax season is here, and Turbo Tax is using a Super Bowl spot to help ease the worry that comes with doing your own taxes. The ad, called “All People are Tax People” shows that doing the annual filing isn’t really that difficult.

Hyundai

The New England Patriots may not be in the Super Bowl this year, but the Bostonian accent will be. Hyundai is pairing up “Big Papi” David Ortiz and Rachel Dratch for its spot that is full of the Boston accent for its preview, Esquire reported.

The actual Super Bowl ad featured not only Dratch and Big Papi, but also Chris Evans and John Krasinski, using their full Bostonian accents to tout the benefits of smart park.
