Susan Lundy, 58, was reported missing July 6, but court documents indicate she could have been killed in late May or early June.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Thurston County Superior Court, Amara Lundy told Olympia police that "she had grown tired of her mother and decided that if her mother was dead, things would be better for several people."

Police claim that the 23-year-old provided details about planning her mother's death.

Charges state that Amara Lundy “purchased a section of yellow cord and she used that to strangle her mother to death."

She also said at one point that her mother begged her to stop, “but she felt at that point her only option was to finish strangling her and continued to do so," court documents said.

Police said Amara Lundy left her mother's body in a yard waste bin for a week before deciding she needed to dispose of it.

She then dismembered the body, wrapping body parts in plastic, according to the charges. She “obtained a shopping cart from local grocery store … using that to go to several dumpsters and private refuse containers around Olympia to dispose of her mother's body," the charges state.

Amara Lundy was ordered held without bail. She's scheduled to be back in court Aug. 27 to enter a plea to the charges.

Charges state that Amara's boyfriend helped her dispose of Susan Lundy’s body. He has not been arrested or charged.
