DONALDSONVILLE, La - Fraternal twins at a Louisiana high school graduated at the top of their class Thursday as valedictorian and salutatorian.
The Advocate reported that Madison Zeringue is Catholic Dioceasan Regional High School’s valedictorian and her brother, Mason Zeringue, is the class of 2019’s salutatorian.
“These two kids never let anything or anyone stop them from being great,” Aimee Zeringue Monaco, the twins’ mother, told WAFB. “They were and are determined to not have to struggle as we did when they were growing up.”
Zeringue Monaco said she raised her children as a single parent. She told WAFB that her daughter plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond on a full scholarship and her son will go to Louisiana State University Eunice on a full scholarship.
Madison Zeringue plans to major in social work, and Mason Zeringue will play baseball and study engineering. The two are entering school with college credit -- Madison Zeringue with 24 credits and Mason Zeringue with 12 credits.
