Top 10 things to do this weekend

Saturday

The Peachtree Jr. 3K will be run at Piedmont Park on Saturday, May 17 at 9:00 a.m. Approximately 2,500 children, ages 7-12, are expected to participate. All finishers will receive a pennant and a T-shirt.  Following the Peachtree Jr., Atlanta Track Club will hold the Lil’ Peach 50M Dash for children ages six and under. Approximately 450 children will participate in the Lil’ Peach Dash, which has already sold out this year.

This arts & crafts festival in Downtonw McDonough features exhibitors and vendors from all over the Southeast.  Enjoy arts & crafts, food, a children’s area, and a community business section.  There’s even a festival app for your Apple or Android phone!

Bring your bicycle or just your feet, and get ready to explore 3.1 miles of Peachtree Street, from MLK Drive up to 17th Street in Midtown your community streets in a safer, healthier, more livable way.  Just remember, no gasoline engines allowed. All human-powered amusement welcome!

Friday & Saturday

Viewed as the world’s elite pro wakeboarding series, the King of Wake ties the sport’s most prestigious contests together into one ultimate season-long points chase to see who rules the wake. At each event, athletes battle it out on the water for points by performing rail tricks and aerial stunts, while being pulled by a towboat at a speed of approximately 25mph.

See historic homes that range from Folk Victorian to ornate Queen Anne  and celebrate 164 years of architectural history in just a few hours on the Grant Park Home and Garden Tour.  Hours are 10:30a-6p on Saturday and 12p-5p on Sunday.  Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 day-of.
