• Thursday Night Football Preview: Rockdale County Bulldogs

CONYERS, Ga.,None - The Thursday Night High School football game of the week for Thursday, September 15th is a matchup between the undefeated Heritage High School Patriots and the Rockdale County Bulldogs.

Rockdale County comes into this game against their cross-town rival eager to end a two game losing streak. After opening the season with a 17-13 win against Winder Barrow, the Bulldogs made too many mistakes against Loganville in week two and then came up short in a close contest with Cedar Shoals last week.

Bulldogs Head Football Coach, Mike Etheridge told WSB-TV sports that "We're just so young, everywhere. We've got so much speed. Not a lot of teams can run with us, but we have sophomores and inexperienced players starting all over the field."

Coach Etheridge feels that the keys to victory in Thursday Night's game are:

"We have to be able to stop their outside plays. You know, them getting on a rocket and tossing it out there. We had a little of a hard time with that last week. It caused more problems, we've been working on trying to stop it and I think we're gonna show a lot better with that."

Etheridge explained that these two teams run similar offenses as well.

"They're gonna have to stop us. We're very similar in the way it looks on film. They look very familiar to what we do and of course, right now they're doing a little better than what we are doing, so hopefully we can get to doing it as well as they are."
