Teen Shot, Killed After House Party

CONYERS, Ga.,None — Two teenagers were taken into custody after three teens were shot after a house party in Conyers on Saturday night, police said. They said an 18-year-old victim died from his injuries.

Two men -- both 17 years old -- were arrested and are facing numerous charges, including possessing a firearm before the age of 18. Police said they are still working to determine which boy should be charged with murder after an 18-year-old was killed.

"These large house parties in neighborhoods don't work," said Conyers police Lt. Jackie Dunn. " You can't control party crashers. That's exactly what happened."

There were up to 75 people at the party on Treeleaf Court, police said. They said there were two parties at the home, one for a 17-year-old girl's birthday and another for a man living at the home to raise rent money. Partygoers were charged $3 for entrance, police said.

Neighbors called police for a noise complaint at about 9 p.m., police said. Officers said they thought they had broken up the party and left. At about midnight, a fight broke out and shots rang out, police said.

The 18-year-old was among three teens shot during the fight. A 15-year-old victim shot in the arm was in stable condition, police said. The 18-year-old and a 16-year-old were airlifted to area hospitals for their injuries. The 16-year-old was in critical condition, police said.

Police said they were still looking for the shooters.

The house tenant was charged with a disorderly house.
